Button questions strategy

Jenson Button was left scratching his head over the tactics used by his Brawn GP technicians in qualifying at Silverstone on Saturday. The Englishman, who had has worst qualifying result of the season so far with sixth place, is looking to face a challenging afternoon during his home Grand Prix on Sunday.

Sixth place and almost eight tenths of a second slower than Vettel in qualifiying, Button explained that his best lap time may have been set too soon. "My second lap was not a lot quicker, but a bit quicker," he said. "We could have made up one more place, but my engineer said 'in this lap, in this lap!' and as soon as someone says that you react to it and I was off on my timing a little bit - it would only have been one position better if I had kept going. I don't know if the team wanted to save more fuel for the race or what, but it was an unusual call."

However, all is not lost for Button who believes, with knowledge of his fuel load (which will be revealed by the FIA later on Saturday afternoon) chances are still high of recovering to the front of the field: "I'm still hopeful we've got the right amount of fuel onboard to be competitive with the guys in front and have a good race, but I've really struggled with the car here and I don't know why - it's quite a different car here over the one I had in Turkey."
