A delighted Sebastian Vettel was all smiles after taking his second consecutive pole position at Silverstone on Saturday. With the fourth pole of his F1 career, the German is best placed placed to close into Jenson Button's championship lead as the Englishman's Brawn will start five places further back and on the third row of the grid.

A stunning final lap placed Vettel ahead of Rubens Barrichello and Red Bull team-mate Mark Webber at the front of the British Grand Prix grid, on a weekend which feautures a selection of new aerodynamic components for the Renault-powered Red Bull RB5. "It's been a fantastic weekend and we havn't had a single problem," said pole man Vettel, who won the Chinese Grand Prix in mid-April. "All the new parts we brought here worked very well."

Despite admitting that - no matter how quick the car - tension always mounts during the qualifying session, Sebastian does remain cautious of the Brawn's race pace. "There are 60 laps around here and this circuit is tough with both the car and drivers," he continued. "Today we did the best possible job, we have a fantastic car and a chance to win - you never know what will happen, but we will definitely fight.

"It is good that Jenson is not here in this room, but the Brawn has very strong pace; they have shown on Sundays that they are extremely competitive, so even if he starts sixth he can come back and score a lot of points."
