John Howett believes chances of the FIA developing a compromise with FOTA this Wednesday remain unlikely. The Toyota team president - who is vice chairman representing the eight teams involved - believes that, whilst developing ideas to keep all parties content is not a large challenge for the groups, taking action is more of an impossibility.
After the meeting between F1's governing body and the Formula One Teams Association on Wednesday, the FOTA group will meet on Thursday in order to discuss the minutes of the FIA get-together. With the clock continuing to tick and the parties not having revoked the situation, Howett talked of the time left available for any real solution to be found. "I would say very short," he said bluntly to Reuters.
On top of this, FOTA has expressed its desires to continue developing its own championship. "If we start with the actions next week which we intend to - to move from a conceptual discussion to an implementation phase - I think we will start to make commitments that then become very difficult to come out of," Howett added.
