Timo Glock is targeting a points finish in his home Grand Prix this weekend on the track at which he first visited a Formula One race. One of five Germans in the field, the pace of his Toyota should allow a challenge for points although Timo is aware that time to make a large impression is running out in 2009.
With half race distance in the German Grand Prix being the half way point of this year's championship, there is still one more race remaining than the amount which have already taken place from Australia to Great Britain. "This is my home track and it will be the first time I have raced a Formula One car there so I am really excited," said Timo of the Nürburgring.

"Obviously, the modern Nürburgring is nothing like the old Nordschleife, which is just an incredible circuit; I drove a Toyota Auris around it recently and it's so much fun but completely different to a modern Formula One circuit. I enjoy the modern Nürburgring and it is a track I am really familiar with after growing up in German racing. In fact, the first Formula One race I attended was at the Nürburgring in 2000 when I was competing in one of the support races so it will be a special feeling for me this weekend."
With 34.5 points, Cologne-based Toyota is third in the constructors' championship although Ferrari looks to be a challenge to that position with 26 at present. "It's surprising that we are already at the halfway point of the season, it has gone so quickly," continued Glock with a comment to which many would agree. "I've had some good races so far and it has been nice to be battling at the front quite often - this weekend is another chance to do that and I can't wait."
