Giancarlo Fisichella remains highly confident that Force India will score its first World Championship points before the end of the 2009 season. Formed last year, the team has missed out on occasions in both seasons although recent results have raised optimism further in the Indian camp.
With Adrian Sutil narrowly escaping points in both Monaco last year and China this, Fisichella finished less than two seconds away from eighth place in this year's Monte-Carlo race before registering another top ten finish in Britain. "Last year we were struggling at some of the tracks to race with other teams and sometimes I would have very lonely races, but this season we've been right there fighting," said Giancarlo, who joined the team after leaving Renault at the end of 2007.

"It's very encouraging. Every part we've put on the car this year has made a difference in performance so we're clearly going in the right direction; it's very motivating for the team and for me personally as a driver - when you're in the hunt you want it so much more."
With 220 race starts already behind him and 13 of them at the Nürburgring, Fisichella's best result at the German track came in the shape of a top five for Benetton in 2000. "For the team it would be a huge boost," he continued, hoping to finish in the top eight. Everyone works really hard and to be this close is actually a bit frustrating; to get this weight off our shoulders would really set us up for the rest of the season."
