The Ferrari team experienced a difficult first German Grand Prix day at the Nürburgring on Friday, as drivers Felipe Massa and Kimi Räikkönen wound up twelfth and seventeen respectively. With the latter keen to find a solution, the Brazilian is hoping to recover to Silverstone pace over the weekend.
With 2008 championship runner-up Massa enjoying a season-best fourth place finish at Silverstone just under three weeks ago, the 28-year-old - who is expecting his first child in November - remains optimistic in Germany. "I think it is more or less like at the last race," said Felipe. "The car is more or less the same - hopefully it's going to be a bit better but, like I said, I think we are more or less where we were at the last race.

"The car was difficult to drive today, so it's no surprise that the lap times are not so good, but I'm sure we can find a solution for the setup; I think it was a reasonable day for us, even if we are a little bit behind. We can fight in the top five, I hope - if you look at the lap times they are not so impressive but for different reasons, I think."
For 2007 Champion Räikkönen, a disappointing day sees the 'Iceman' finish amongst the bottom five runners and in what would be the Q1 drop-out zone during qualifying. "The car was quite difficult to handle today, but I'm pretty sure we can find a solution for that," Kimi reported after practice. "If you look at the Fridays, we are not usually very fast but it all depends on how much fuel everybody is running. We'll see what we can do tomorrow."
