Glock race engineer leaves Toyota

10 July 2009

Timo Glock has been assigned with a new race engineer after regular colleague Francesco Nenci left the Cologne-based team. With driver-race engineer relationships a large key to success, particularly when setting up cars during practice, the German could be placed on the back foot at his home Grand Prix this weekend as a result.

With Nenci no longer participating in his role and placed on gardening leave by the team, he will officially depart the outfit at the end of the year having only joined 27-year-old Glock - who is currently eighth in the World Championship - at the beginning of the 2009 season.

Stepping into Nenci's position will be Juan Pablo Ramirez, as the former Arrows employee moves up from a test engineer role (held for at Toyota six years) to the race team, currently on a short-term foundation until a full solution is established.
