Traffic a problem for Buemi
11 July 2009 / Results / PhotosSébastien Buemi again impressed at the Nürburgring on Saturday, qualifying the Toro Rosso in seventeenth position and three places ahead of more experienced team-mate Sébastien Bourdais. As the 20-year-old Swiss newcomer to F1 complained of being held up by traffic, rumours continue to circulate regarding the future of his team-mate.

The front half of Row 10 was another strong effort by rookie Buemi, who beat Giancarlo Fisichella and Timo Glock as well as his own team-mate. "I think I could have got into Q2 if I had not got caught in traffic," Buemi explained after the session. "Other than that, I feel that we did the best we could given that we are still waiting for our car updates.
"We improved the car this morning and it seemed competitive in comparison with the cars we are racing against, so I must admit that I am hoping for rain tomorrow as our car should go well in wet conditions - we will just have to keep pushing and see what happens."
Four-time Champ Car Champion Bourdais, on the other hand, is still centre of attention with some saying that the German Grand Prix may be his last for the Toro Rosso team. "My contract doesn't have a performance clause. I have a firm contract until the end of the season," he told Spain's TV3.
