Sutil: We shouldn't be disappointed
12 July 2009 / Results / PhotosAdrian Sutil is rapidly and unfortunately earning himself the reputation of the unluckiest man in Grand Prix racing after suffering from another lost chance to score the first points for the Force India team in Germany. Having run as high as second during pit stop windows, the local driver dropped down the field after a collision with Kimi Räikkönen.

It was a slight case of déjà vu for Adrian Sutil at the Nürburgring as he collided again with the 2007 Champion whilst running in a points position, like in Monaco last season. On exiting the pit lane, the two cars touched which resulted in a loss of the Force India's left front wing endplate and, also like in China this year, a wasted opportunity to score World Championship points.
"We shouldn't be that disappointed with this result as we have had a good weekend and the next one will come very soon," Adrian said after the race. "All our development shows we are on the right track and that we are much more competitive; it was a good race for me - the start was a bit difficult but I lost just one position. In the first stint I did really well and it was looking very promising, as I was up to second by my first stop."
With Räikkönen labelling the clash as a racing incident, what was the view of the driver on the inside line? "When I went out of the pit 1ane, I saw Kimi coming on the outside of the corner and I just tried to hold my line but he went to the outside and I touched him and lost part of my front wing," Sutil explained.
