Bernie Ecclestone has explained that he will be taking action in order to seal an updated Concorde agreement within the next two days. The Englishman, commercial rights holder for Formula One, will enable teams to fully contribute to 2010 changes once the agreement has been signed by all parties.
With the Concorde Agreement being a general document by which all teams will be going racing next year, the current situation would see the Formula One Teams Association (FOTA) plus other competitors closing an updated version of the 1998 agreement before writing up a 2009 draft in due course. With governing body the FIA and FOTA still not at peace, Ecclestone is ready to step up the mark.

"I hope to have a Concorde Agreement in place by Wednesday," said the man behind Formula One Management (FOM). "Max (Mosley, FIA president) will be happy when we have it sorted - he will have achieved everything he set out to achieve, including a new agreement and cost-cutting. He will then be in a position to do what he said he would do and step down. But as for me, I'll be around for the future."
Ecclestone's last comments reflect upon the fact that Mosley's departure has been called for by teams over recent months, although rumours of himself saying 'goodbye' to F1 are not valid, he insists. "Any story suggesting I'm going anywhere is completely untrue," the F1 supremo added. "I don't know where they came from."
