Michael Schumacher's former team-mate Jos Verstappen has said he is not surprised to see the German replace Felipe Massa at the next Grand Prix. The Dutchman believes Schumacher was the only logical choice for Ferrari to replace Massa.
"I wouldn't know who else could replace Felipe Massa on such a short notice," Verstappen said. "If there's someone out there who can do the job it will be him."
Jos Verstappen enjoyed his Formula 1 debut back in 1994 as Schumacher's team-mate at Benetton. That season Schumacher claimed his first F1 championship title.
"If Schumacher wouldn't be ready for this he wouldn't have taken the risk. You just have to wonder what is there to win for him. For Ferrari it is a great opportunity to have a driver with his experience in the car again. We just need to wait and see what he is capable of as he didn't complete a mile in the current Formula 1 car."
