Schumacher feels results of first training schedule

02 August 2009

Michael Schumacher started his preparations right after Ferrari announced they plan to replace Felipe Massa by Michael Schumacher at the upcoming European Grand Prix. The seven-time world champion has not been an active racing driver since the 2006 Brazilian Grand Prix and admitted he felt muscles he wasn't even aware they existed.

The former Formula 1 champion began his preparations in the gym, but also at Mugello testing the Ferrari F2007 using GP2 Bridgestone slicks. This weekend Schumacher is expected to complete more miles in a Formula 1 car to get used to the G-forces again.

Speaking about the results of his training schedule Schumacher said: "I have to say that today I feel muscles I was not even aware anymore they exist. But then it was clear that you cannot test for a day after such a lot of time without feeling anything, and I am curious to see what will happen in the coming days."
