Toyota finished the day with two midfield positions in Spain on Friday as the first two practice sessions and a total of three hours running time was completed in Valencia. In twelfth and fifteenth places, Jarno Trulli and Timo Glock remain confident ahead of final practice and qualifying on Saturday.
With the morning session having seen the two Japanese cars finish 18th and 19th, both the Italian and German made up ground during the afternoon. "That was a pretty good day for me overall," said Glock, who made up six places during the race on his way to two points last year. "The car feels quite positive and balanced, which is a promising start to the weekend, and we successfully ran through our whole programme."

"Basically, today was a normal Friday for us, without any exceptional situations," Trulli continued. "Everything went smoothly and we had no troubles so we were able to evaluate the tyres and the setups to make sure we are prepared for the rest of the weekend.
"We still have some work to do to make the most of our car but it is difficult to see a true picture of where we stand after practice as you never know exactly what programmes other teams are working on; the car feels okay but we will work to get more performance from it." Trulli has no qualms with the street venue itself, however, after achieving a top five result in 2008.
