Kovalainen confident for Valencia win

Heikki Kovalainen missed out on the European Grand Prix pole position by a small mistake in the third sector on Saturday. The McLaren driver will join team-mate Lewis Hamilton on the front row and targets a race win on Sunday afternoon.

"Absolutely," Kovalainen replied when asked if he can win Sunday's race. "That has to be the target but it's a very good day for us in the whole McLaren team at the moment because we are finally both back on the front row but, of course, my target tomorrow is to do everything to beat everybody else, like always.

"For sure, everybody around me will try to do the same. We will try to manage the situation accordingly but I don't see any reason why I don't have a chance."
