Word in the Valencia paddock suggests that Jarno Trulli and Toyota may end their five year partnership at the end of this season. The Italian first wore red and white race overalls in 2004 although team president John Howett has suggested that the Azzurro driver may have to find a home elsewhere in 2010.

With Trulli having raced for Toyota since the Japanese Grand Prix of 2004, the Italian has been the team's leading driver every year since 2006 although, if Saturday's rumours in Spain are anything to go by, that partnership may not last for much longer.
"We are in negotiation, we haven't reached an agreement and there is a possibility that we won't close the gap," Howett explained to Reuters on Saturday afternoon. "At the moment the gap is reasonably large; we have to say that there is a very strong probability not (to continue)...

"To be honest, it looks like the driver market will be opened up quite significantly; it was said by three or four teams in the press conference and we are waiting to see if the rumours of Alonso (moving from Renault to Ferrari) are correct, how that affects the current line-up and what the position will be for the BMW drivers…everybody will wait to see and we will see quite a lot of movement."
"Money has never been an issue," Trulli added. "I understand the position of the team on many things. At the moment there is a lot of cost-cutting; I do believe the driver has to play his role in this and I am more than happy to. For me, this is not only a team but a family, so I understand that we need to save the team and save the people who work in it."
