'Quick' Nick Heidfeld was delighted for BMW-Sauber after achieving third on the grid for the Hilwil team in qualifying at Spa on Saturday. As the outfit continues searching for a buyer due to BMW's departure at the end of the year, the German will lead from the team's best qualifying positions of 2009 on Sunday.
With Heidfeld third and team-mate Robert Kubica fifth on the Spa grid, BMW is the only constructor to place both of its cars amongst the top five. "It's important to everyone in the team," Heidfeld explained, "and shows that BMW wants to leave on a high - and it's more important for the people in Hinwil."

With this season having been a huge struggle for the Bavarian cars, Heidfeld explained that no large modifications are to thank for the result. "We have a couple of small updates but nothing major," he continued. "We are waiting for Singapore (next significant aerodynamics update); one reason why it's so mixed up here is because it is a completely different track, of mid-downforce levels.
"We made good progress overnight; this morning there were another couple of changes and it went pretty smooth but from time to time there is traffic. In Q2 I wasn't happy with the setup but I was convinced that (passing into) Q3 could be possible."
