Lewis Hamilton was disappointed to have been taken out of the Belgian Grand Prix in a first lap collision. The World Champion's race had started from twelfth on the grid although a coming together with Jaime Alguersuari brought an end to the McLaren man's race at Les Combes.
Having made a clean start from pole in Valencia a week ago, Hamilton received the worst possible consequences from a mid-grid starting place at Spa. "It was just one of those days, what can you do?" he told the BBC. "I got off to a really bad start and the anti-stall kicked in - I tried to recover from it and got sandwiched at the first corner."
What was Lewis' view of the Les Combes pile-up just four corners later? "Jenson (Button) spun at Turn 5 and everyone looked like they were piling into him so I backed off and got hit from behind," he recalled. Hamilton's incident with Jaime Alguersuari will be investigated after the race.
