Gené preparing for Brno demo run

04 September 2009

Ferrari reserve driver Marc Gené will be driving last year's F2008 at the Czech Brno circuit this weekend. The Spaniard, fellow tester of Luca Badoer, will be piloting the Constructors' Championship-winning car as part of Ferrari's Racing Days event.

With Luca Badoer having raced for the last two Grands Prix and Giancarlo Fisichella now announced as test driver at the Maranello team for 2010, the futures of Ferrari's current two testers are unknown although Catalan Gené is all set for his latest public outing.

As well as driving the F2008 which achieved second and third in the Drivers' Championship for Felipe Massa and Kimi Räikkönen last year, Gené will also get behind the wheel of a Ferrari FXX owned by none other than seven-time World Champion Michael Schumacher, who is lending the vehicle for the event.

Another 13 Ferrari F1 cars are set to hit the track, driven by a selection of members from the F1 Clienti Department at Maranello. The weekend will also feature several rounds of Ferrari's one-make championship with practice on Friday followed by qualifying and races on Saturday plus further race action and Gené's demonstration run on Sunday.
