Ferrari new boy Giancarlo Fisichella will be aiming for top eight points finishes in the remaining five races of the 2009 season. The Roman, now in his fourteenth Formula One season, realises a dream by joining Ferrari as the quest for points begins in first free practice at Monza on Friday morning.

The Italian Grand Prix, his home race, will be Fisichella's first with Ferrari before heading to the four season-ending 'flyaways'. "The target is obviously to finish third in the Constructors' Championship for Ferrari, so we need to score a lot of points with Kimi (Räikkönen)," Giancarlo said at Monza.
"My target is to score points in every race, if possible, and it would obviously be nice to get on the podium but we will see."
Having entered F1 with Minardi in 1996, 'Fisico' made the switch to Jordan in 1997 before moving on to Benetton just one year later. A transfer back to Jordan came in 2002 before spending a sole season at Sauber in 2004. Giancarlo's most successful season to date was his second with Renault, in 2006, before moving to Vijay Mallya's Force India for the start of 2008.
