Alguersuari to start race from pit lane

Scuderia Toro Rosso driver Jaime Alguersuari will start Sunday's Italian Grand Prix from the pit lane, his team confirmed on Sunday morning. His team made a number of changes on his car on Saturday evening and Formula One rules state that, when a team is making such changes, the driver in question he will have to start from the pit lane.

According to Toro Rosso the team removed a flap from the rear wing and a number of other minor changes to Alguersuari's car. Alguersuari qualified in 20th for the Italian Grand Prix.

Although his pit lane starting position will mean he is last to the first corner, the Spaniard is likely to avoid any Turn 1 collisions.
