Mark Webber's championship chances took another significant blow as the Australian confirmed that his run of four podiums has now been followed by three non-scores. The Red Bull driver's race at Monza ended after just four corners following a collision with Robert Kubica's BMW.
Webber and Kubica narrowly avoiding touching on the run down to Turn 1, the Rettifilo chicane, although it was at the Variante della Roggia's Turn 5 where Webber's race came to a premature and abrupt halt.

"Yeah, reasonable start," he described to the BBC. "Initially, I didn't have a great first to second shift, so the momentum to Turn 1 was not too great…" Before turning in, however, Kubica had already been forced onto the grass as Webber tried his best to avoid his own team-mate.
"We were both slow through the first chicane and I was following Sebastian (Vettel) and Robert," Mark added. "It looked like he (Kubica) got his front wheel into my rear-left and I could do nothing about it."
