Despite wanting to have achieved top eight finishes in all of his five Ferrari races before the end of the season, Giancarlo Fisichella walked away from Monza without any on Sunday. The Roman missed out on the required eighth position by just over a second after a five-place climb from fourteenth.
Having finished 20th and last in two of the weekend's three practice sessions at Monza, a Parabolica crash on Saturday morning certainly didn't help the Italian as crucial setup time was lost. Giancarlo remains upbeat, however, as F1 heads to Singapore in a fortnight's time.

"I am happy with the way things went in my first race weekend with Ferrari," he said after his home race. "At the start, I managed to make up a few places but then I had a difficult moment with Vettel, who closed the door on me going into Ascari in a way that was, let's say, very decisive.
"In the first part of the race, I felt comfortable on the softer tyre (Soft compound) while I struggled a bit more on the harder one (Medium), especially after the pit-stop. It's a shame I only just missed out on a points finish but, this afternoon, I did the best I could.
"I am upset that I went off the track in FP3, which prevented me from being as well prepared as possible for qualifying; starting a bit further forward might have seen me finish in the top eight. Right from tomorrow (Monday) morning, I will be concentrating totally on preparing for the race in Singapore, a track that I like a lot."
