Coulthard entertains crowds in Osaka

David Coulthard and Red Bull Racing were out in force to present an exciting street demonstration in the Japanese city of Osaka at the weekend. Driving last year's RB4 in front of the vast turnout in front of Osaka Castle, the Scot warmed the country up for a return to Suzuka a fortnight later.

Driver turned television pundit Coulthard travelled to Japan as the country's Grand Prix moves back to Suzuka this year for the first time since 2006, having taken time out for two visits to the Fuji Speedway.

"It's a great circuit and one of my favourites but I've had my time and am now too old!" the Scot laughed when asked by GPUpdate.net whether he fancied another attempt at the Mie-Ken track in an F1 car. "Suzuka is an amazing circuit for me and a more difficult one than Fuji - I think it's going to be a circuit which will suit Red Bull very much to try and keep the championship alive."

In a country where a following of Formula One can border on the religious, what did David make of the attendance for his street demo? "It's very great to see so many huge fans of F1 before coming before the Grand Prix at Suzuka," he continued after performing at a spectacular venue.

"It's incredible castle," he said of one Osaka's most prized attraction. "I read about it before coming here to understand the history and all of the amazing things which have happened; it's really an honour for us to be driving a Formula One car in front of this castle.

"This is a castle designed by a man who would have drunk Red Bull!" he added of the structure for which construction work first began in 1583…

Red Bull will travel to Saitama on Tuesday for an event at which both driver Mark Webber and GPUpdate.net will be present.
