Nelson Piquet Jr. left Renault's FIA hearing with no sentence on Monday as the Brazilian had already been granted immunity in the 'Crashgate' scandal following a highly serious case of race-fixing in last year's Singapore Grand Prix.

With the Formula One governing body having already stated that former Renault driver Piquet would leave clear of punishment providing full and honest details had been given, the 24-year-old can begin to repair his shattered career.

An FIA statement regarding Piquet reads as follows:

'The World Motor Sport Council confirms the immunity from individual sanctions under the International Sporting Code in relation to this incident, which the FIA had granted to him in exchange for volunteering his evidence.'
