'We don't need these people in F1'

Head of Spanish Motorsport Carlos Gracia has questioned the FIA's decision of granting Nelson Piquet Jr. immunity in the lead up to Mondays climax of 'Crashgate'. Representatives of the Renault team will attend an FIA World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) meeting in Paris in order to learn of their destiny.

Garcia is of the opinion that, if Renault can remain liable to sanctions for its actions at the Singapore Grand Prix last year, then Piquet Jr. should share the same fate.

"His behaviour was completely unacceptable, he benefited as much as the rest of the team," Gracia told Spanish radio station Onda Cero, indicating how Piquet Jr. received an extended contract in return for his part in 'Crashgate'. The Spaniard continued by calling into question the skill of young Nelsinho. "Is it any coincidence that he's crashed 17 times during his time at Renault?" he questioned.

Garcia then continued to say the blame should be spread across all parties involved, including then Renault Team Principal Flavio Briatore and former Executive Director of Engineering Pat Symonds. "Be it Flavio Briatore - as big as his name is - or be it an engineer, we don't need these people in Formula One."
