Liuzzi under investigation for tax evasion

Toro Rosso driver Vitantonio Liuzzi is believed to be under investigation for tax evasion purposes, reports from Italy claim. If found guilty of such charges, the Italian will be the third motor racing personality to face the same fate within the space of a year.

Already this year, MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi and IndyCar's Helio Castroneves (of Brazil) have had similar problems due to tax reasons and an Italian police source explained the same of Liuzzi to Reuters on Friday.

According to reports, almost €500m (£458m) are being held illegally abroad (outside of Italy) as other sports stars are also under investigation for claiming residency in other countries without paying tax in their home nation, despite frequent visits.
