Webber not searching for new manager

25 September 2009

Mark Webber has said that he will not be searching for a new manager now that Flavio Briatore is banned from Formula One. Follow the decision of the FIA World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) this week, the Italian is not allowed to remain involved in the sport or manage any racing driver in an FIA championship. Webber, managed by Briatore for since 1998, refuses to look for a replacement to fill the gap.

On Monday the WMSC banned Flavio Briatore from F1 for life following the 'Crashgate' scandal. He is therefore no longer welcome in the Formula One paddock and the Italian is not allowed to manage any driver in the sport from 2010 onwards. Speaking about the consequences of the WMSC outcome, Australian Webber said: "My life has changed massively, it has turned it upside down - you wouldn't believe. Honestly, I have had Flavio looking after me for eleven years.

"I have never looked at the contract after I signed it on that first day and there are not many people in this paddock you can do that with. He has been sensational for me. I won't work with anyone else in the future if I can't work with him."
