Ferrari's Giancarlo Fisichella dropped out of Saturday's qualifying session for the Singapore Grand Prix as early as Q1. In-line with new rules, Fisichella gave a frank analysis of qualifying to reporters
"It's been tough, I'm nowhere near the limit of the car," said the the Italian, who has qualified 17th on the grid for Sunday's race and will not be affected by a place drop imposed upon Rubens Barrichello. However, 'Fisi' does hope that he can make up places and aim for his first points finish for Ferrari. "It'll be a long race but hopefully I can make a good start."
Fisichella moved to Ferrari replacing Luca Badoer; who was unimpressive as he stood in for an injured Felipe Massa. Giancarlo achieved his best finish of the season on his last weekend with Force India and, admits that he is yet to raise his game to Ferrari standards. "It's completely different from a Force India; different engine, different handling - a full day of testing would help," he added.
Giancarlo is one of five drivers to be drastically affected by the testing ban this year, as others have also struggled to master the new generation F1 equipment at short notice.
