Lewis Hamilton has secured pole position for Sunday's unique night race in Singapore. The reigning Champion has been on a charge of late after a faltering start to the season.
The Briton was very pleased to return to the top three post-qualifying press conference and laid a lot of praise with his team. "We've got some updates this weekend," he said. "Friday wasn't spectacular and the team worked hard again to rebuild the car all night. I'm just very please to pay them back with pole."
Onlookers had noticed how Kimi Räikkönen was 'hustling' his Ferrari around the track to achieve the best out of a car which does not suit the track, however Lewis seemed less active within his own cockpit. "The lap was very relaxed," he confirmed. "The car's just getting better and better." The Briton is also confident that, even when fuel-corrected, he may still be the quickest man on the track.
None of the top ten managed to finish their usual second late run in the session, which dashed the hopes of 2nd and 3rd placed Vettel and Rosberg, after Rubens Barrichello crashed with 24 seconds remaining. Lewis was also disappointed: "My second lap may have been quicker by a couple of tenths. I think was able to go faster."
