Vettel laments what might have been

After finishing fastest in the weekend's second practice session on Friday, Sebastian Vettel was disappointed to have lost the opportunity to snatch pole position away from Lewis Hamilton in the last knockings of qualifying.

With Vettel having been demoted to second by Champion Hamilton, the German was on his final flying lap when the Brawn of Rubens Barrichello crashed at Turn 5 to bring out yellow flags, which eventually turned to red and signalled a premature end to the qualifying session.

"On the second run - with the red flag - on new tyres, I was hopeful and comfortable," German Vettel said in the post-session press conference. "It's a shame but tomorrow we have a long race, 61 laps, and we have what it takes; I look forward to tomorrow after practice yesterday - I really like the circuit, its great fun - bumpy but enjoyable!"
