Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello, who are currently heading the Drivers' Championship with a gap of 15 points between them, have spoken out about the 'fun' returning to Formula One as the circus visits Suzuka for the first time in three years.
As the two Brawn drivers vie for the title, they must also be mindful of the Constructors' title although both remain excited in returning to Japan's true drivers' circuit. "Suzuka is such a fun circuit and I have lots of good memories from racing there over the years," championship leader Button began. "I think everyone has missed having it on the calendar for the last few years."
Brazilian team-mate Barrichello elaborated: "Spoon and 130R are the undoubted highlights of the lap." As the Brawn team will hope to lock out the front row - as temperatures are expected to be optimum - should any overtaking need to be done, the veteran racer stated: "Overtaking can be tough and generally happens into the slowest corner on the track, the Casio Triangle, into the fast fifth-gear First Curve or occasionally at the Turn 11 hairpin."
Both men reiterated that the track was a real drivers' circuit, which means spectators can expect fast-flowing corners along with some very exciting incidents. "We might not be flat-out through 130R but it's still a real buzz to take the corner carrying speeds of 300kph (185mph)," Button added. "There have been some moments in the past!"
