World Champion Lewis Hamilton may soon be giving up his Formula One crown but is looking forward to renewing his on-track battle with Fernando Alonso next season. As the Spaniard - former McLaren team-mate of Hamilton - moves to Ferrari, the duo is likely to continue their 2007 rivalry.
Since returning to Renault last year, Alonso has been unable to challenge Hamilton for race wins due to driving a slower car for the majority of the 2008 and 2009 seasons. However, with the Asturias man moving to Ferrari in what is likely to be the final team switch of his career, Hamilton is excited.

"I'm looking forward to it," the Englishman told The Press Association. "I've got a huge amount of respect for him; he'll be very strong at Ferrari, so we've got to make sure we do everything we can - we've got to do a solid job with our car, which I'm sure we will."
With Kimi Räikkönen tipped for a McLaren return, Hamilton is sure that the battles at the front will be intriguing, no matter who moves where. "It sounds like it could be quite exciting," he laughed. "It could be back to the older days, because I grew up watching Kimi and Fernando being at the front with Schumacher and, for me, I see those as the greats and being able to compete with those back up the front with Massa…it will be a close, close battle.
"As drivers, we always want to be racing against the best and you always want it to be close - but you always want to be ahead of them."
