Car manufacturer Honda has again said that it may return to Formula One, although not in the near future. The Japanese marque pulled out of the sport with immediate effect and at late notice in December of last year, selling its team - now Brawn GP - to Ross Brawn.
Honda Chief Executive Takanobu Ito told Reuters at Suzuka that the company does not see itself returning to the sport in the near future. "It would be difficult to re-enter Formula One racing under the current business conditions," he said.
"But in the future, if it became a competition based on fuel efficiency and performance, as well as pose a technical challenge, then we would surely want to take part. I do not see that happening in the near future."
