5-place grid drop for Liuzzi
03 October 2009 / PhotosVitantonio Liuzzi had been handed a 5-place grid penalty ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix following a gearbox change. The Italian qualified 19th in qualifying on Saturday, eliminated in Q1.

With Mark Webber absent from qualifying following a crash in final practice, Liuzzi effectively takes no penalty after qualifying 19th but has changed his gearbox ahead of Sunday's race.
It remains to be seen as to whether the Italian will begin his race from the back of the grid or the pit lane.
