Canadian Grand Prix organisers are confident that their race will be able to return to the Formula One calendar next season despite recent comments suggesting otherwise from commercial rights holder Bernie Ecclestone.
With Montreal's comeback pencilled into the FIA race calendar for 13 June 2010, it is the only race to be accompanied by an asterisk indicated that the event is subject to final negotiations.

"When I come back from Japan next week I'm going to need final answers to all of our questions," FOM's Ecclestone said earlier in the week. "If I don't have them, there won't be a Grand Prix in Montreal; I'm no longer very confident (of reaching an agreement) - we have waited to have all of the answers and we can't wait much longer."
"I'm not very concerned about that," responded Montreal Mayor Gerald Tremblay when speaking to local radio station CJAD. "We're continuing our negotiations and when we have a signed deal we'll make it public."
