Title still open for Barrichello

Rubens Barrichello believes that his car was never set up properly at this weekend's Japanese Grand Prix. However, collecting a result to take Brawn GP within half a point of the Constructors' title was a sufficient overall result for the team.

Given the circumstances, Barrichello also thought that finishing ahead of team-mate and championship rival Jenson Button was vital in keeping his Drivers' Championship alive.

"I wasn't happy with the setup for the whole race," he told the BBC. "I didn't get the best out of the car and was struggling out there - to finish the weekend in front of Jenson with such a car, I think we did well."

The Brazilian veteran - who received a 5-place penalty after qualifying for a speeding infraction - believes that, had the Safety Car not intervened during the race, he may have collected more points. "If it wasn't for the Safety Car I could have done better, I think," Rubens continued. "We have to do the best we can but it's still very difficult to overtake in Formula One."

Barrichello believes, however, that the Drivers' Championship is still open and is looking forward to the next Grand Prix in his homeland. "I'm looking forward to going to Brazil and hope to win my home race."
