Webber hails 'best ever' season in F1

16 October 2009

Red Bull Racing driver Mark Webber is very happy with his performance this season. His eighth season as an F1 driver has brought him one victory, 6 podium finishes and one pole position, which makes it clearly his best season ever since joining the sport with Minardi in 2002.

Webber is currently fourth in the championship standings and is looking for a strong finish to the season if he manages to keep Kimi Räikkönen and Lewis Hamilton a bay in the Drivers' contest.

"It's been my best season ever so I can be happy about that, but as the bar rises then your goals change, of course," Webber told Sky Sports. "I've had a bit of a rough run of late, in terms of not getting the points I would have liked, but that has been off the back of a lot of podiums in a row and the race victory in Germany.

"Things have been going really well for me and I am looking to finish the season as best I can."

Webber's highlight of the year so far is clearly his maiden victory in July. "Winning in Germany was my highlight of the season, for sure," Mark added. "It was a great day for me to finally win a race in Formula One and I hope there are more to follow."
