Force India driver Vitantonio Liuzzi is set to receive a five-place grid penalty for Sunday's Brazilian Grand Prix after his team decided to replace the car's gearbox. The Italian damaged his car when he lost control of the VJM02 in Saturday's qualifying session and smashed into the wall due to aquaplaning.
With all drivers needing to make gearboxes last for four race weekends, Liuzzi's accident at Turn 1 in Brazil sparked immediate concern for the component in the team garage.
As a result of the change, Italian Liuzzi - who qualified 15th - will have to start the Brazilian Grand Prix from last place on the grid, promoting Giancarlo Fisichella's Ferrari to 19th and also benefitting title contender Sebastian Vettel, who now sets off from just one place behind rival Jenson Button.
