A date has been established for the court hearing which will determine whether ousted team boss Flavio Briatore will ever be able to return to Formula One or indeed any other FIA motorsport championship.

With ex-Renault Managing Director Briatore having received a life-long ban for his part in the Singapore 2008 race-fixing scandal, the Italian also stands to lose his place as joint owner of the Queens Park Rangers (QPR) football club, with Football League regulations stating than a ban from any sporting governing body can result in such an outcome.

With his football decision placed on hold, Briatore visited the Tribunal de Grande Instance court in Paris on Monday and a date of Tuesday 24 November has been set for a full hearing between himself and F1 governing body the FIA, which will then be headed by either Jean Todt or Ari Vatanen.

Briatore therefore has five weeks and counting to wait until his future is unravelled.
