Glock linked with Renault 2010 drive

29 October 2009

The German media is suggesting on Thursday that Toyota's Timo Glock will be making the switch to Renault in order to join Robert Kubica from next season. The German driver, who misses the last three races of the current campaign due to injury sustained in Suzuka qualifying, has so far driven for two teams in his Formula One career.

Having made his debut for Jordan as replacement to Giorgio Pantano in 2004, Glock stepped up to Toyota's race team alongside Jarno Trulli last year although the Cologne squad has already indicated that it will have an entirely new line-up in 2010.

With Germany's Bild reporting that a Glock-Renault deal is '95 percent perfect', according to a team insider, manager Hand-Bernd Kamps has stressed that no contract is currently in place. "Perhaps the contract will even be signed here in Abu Dhabi," the insider is quoted as adding. Kamps concluded: "For 2010 it looks good and we will probably announce a little surprise next week."
