Bad vibrations for Button...
31 October 2009 / Results / PhotosChampion Jenson Button was frustrated to have been victim of understeer at Yas Marina on Saturday. With his car's rear end having had more grip at its disposal than the front and therefore running deep into corners, the Englishman was unable to make the most of qualifying and starts the season finale fifth after being out-qualified by team-mate Rubens Barrichello.

Ironically, Button is beaten in qualifying by championship rivals Sebastian Vettel and Barrichello although, despite seeing both titles sewn up in Brazil a fortnight ago, Button was still disappointed not to have a chance of challenging for pole position.
"The car has felt good here all weekend and the first two sessions went well in qualifying today," the Frome man commented. "Unfortunately in Q3, when we were running with high fuel and new tyres, I started to get massive vibrations every time I hit the brakes, which made the steering wheel shudder.
"With such a smooth circuit, any kind of vibration just leads to understeer, which made the car quite a handful to drive; it's frustrating, as we had the potential for a better performance today and should have been challenging for the first row behind Lewis (Hamilton) - hopefully we can solve the issue before the race and I'm looking forward to a good fight tomorrow."
