Sutil finishes positive season at the back

Adrian Sutil rounded off what has been a promising season for the Force India team in disappointing fashion by suffering a largely off-colour weekend in Abu Dhabi. Victim of brake problems in practice, the German made no impression over the course of the 55-lap race on his way to picking up eighteenth position.

As the final finisher at Yas Marina, Sutil finished three places behind team-mate Vitantonio Liuzzi and also drops to 17th in the Drivers' Championship after Toro Rosso's Sébastien Buemi crossed the finish line in eighth.

"We had some problems at the start of the race with the tyres and had to stop earlier than expected to change to a new set," Adrian explained. "The two-stop strategy was the right one and the race went okay although we obviously didn't get any points, which was the aim.

"All the same, it has been a very good season, naturally with a lot of ups and downs, but we've gone massively forward from the beginning of the season to the end. I think we can be very proud of this progress." Having not run its car until the late date of February, the Silverstone squad ends the season a very respectable ninth in the Constructors' Championship.
