Rosberg hoping for 2010 title fight

09 November 2009

Nico Rosberg is hoping to challenge for Grand Prix victories and possibly the World Championship title next year as he drives for a team other than Williams for the first time in his Formula One career. The German is expected to switch to either Brawn or McLaren, both of which are likely to be powered by Mercedes-Benz.

It is highly expected that Rosberg will be teaming up with a World Champion in 2010, be it current title holder Jenson Button at Brawn - in what would be an effective drive swap with Rubens Barrichello - or 2008 victor Lewis Hamilton at McLaren.

"This season's been an important year for me because I have really seen it as a kind of stepping stone to have the chance of fighting for race wins or even the championship next year," the German said in a Williams podcast. Despite admitting that he had hoped for more, Nico values the understanding, both good and bad.

"Experience helps you use your mind more, which will make you faster on the track," the son of 1982 Champion Keke continued. "It's really nice to use your mind and think about things, not only use your talent and go for it."
