Toro Rosso to run Hartley at Jerez test

09 November 2009

With Red Bull Racing confirming that British Formula 3 Champion Daniel Ricciardo will join the team for Jerez's December test, sister outfit Scuderia Toro Rosso has revealed that Red Bull Young Driver Brendon Hartley will also be running at the session in south-west Spain.

After driving a Formula One car at Jerez for the first time last year, New Zealander Hartley will be repeating the feat this winter. "Yes, we will test Brendon Hartley and we will see if a second driver comes to join us from Red Bull for this test," Toro Rosso Team Principal Franz Tost confirmed to Autosport.

19-year-old Hartley, having taken over from David Coulthard as Red Bull's reserve driver in May, later decided to concentrate more on his racing schedule as Jaime Alguersuari consequently filled the breach.
